The ACS Binghamton Local Section is pleased to announce the Annual ACS Binghamton Local Section Student Travel Award described below. Award nominations are due to LocalACS@Binghamton.edu no later than Friday, March 15th, 2024.

Outstanding Undergraduate Chemistry Senior and Outstanding Graduate Student Awards

Each year, the ACS Binghamton Local Section recognizes the outstanding students studying at the college and universities within its geographic region. The Outstanding Chemistry Senior at each institution is presented with a cash award and a plaque. The Outstanding Graduate Student is presented The Zappert Award, which consists of a cash award and a plaque. The winners of these awards are chosen by the respective departments and are presented the awards at the Local Section’s Annual Awards Dinner, which typically occurs toward the end of the spring semester.

We are sad to announce the passing of Dr. Barbara Paul Losty, daughter of Drs. Henry and Mary Paul. Her obituary can be found here and in lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to made to either the Michael C. Niles Grant in Art scholarship at University of Missouri, or the Drs. Mary & Henry Paul scholarship fund in Binghamton, NY in her honor. Individuals wishing to donate to the Drs. Paul Scholarship fund may send a check made out to the ACS Binghamton Local Section to:
