"Introducing Polymers/Plastics Across the Curriculum" is a National Science Foundation project, with additional support from the Camille & Henry Dreyfus Foundation, to develop laboratory experiments that introduce a diverse student population to the fundamentals of polymers and plastics, through pre-existing advanced undergraduate laboratory courses.

The laboratory experience for each course contains three components:

Chemistry component - structure-property relationships of polymers and plastics.

Materials component - materials formulation and mechanical properties.

Environmental component - biodegradable polymers and plastics from renewable resources.

Participants:

Kyle Baumstein, Undergraduate student, Chemistry

Michael Benedict, Undergraduate student, Physics

Professor Junghyun Cho, Mechanical Engineering

Professor Eric Cotts, Physics

Professor David Doetschman, Chemistry

Adam Goldrich, Undergraduate student, Chemistry/Materials

Daniel Jordy, Undergraduate student, Mechanical Engineering
