Background

In 1993 the Chemistry Departments of the four SUNY University Centers, with the financial support of the SUNY Office of Educational Technology, formed a consortium to develop and disseminate an electronic curriculum for introductory chemistry. The electronic curriculum includes animation, simulations, video, sound, photographs, text and assessment tools. We have constructed a software prototype using Multimedia Toolbook that incorporates the key features of an electronic curriculum. We describe in this paper our plans to disseminate these electronic materials on the Internet.
